How to draw VIGNE

Zentangle pattern: VigneThe Vigne tangle pattern appears to be inspired by the decorative folk art of tole painting. I can visualize each shape or line as a juicy brush stroke.

Chicago CZT® Sue Jacobs’ patterns often seem to come from decorative painting and indeed she writes Vigne was “inspired by a pattern I saw on a Russian tray but I’ve changed it up a little.

Vigne is just a little more challenging to draw than it first appears, I found my vine wobbled all over the place at first. But a couple of practice goes, focusing on one deliberate stroke at a time, got me sorted. This is a lovely delicate pattern and I know you’ll find creative ways to weave it through your Zentangles and Zendalas.

Sue illustrates the steps for drawing her Vigne tangle, here.
