How to draw WARTS AND WOBBLES

Zentangle pattern: Warts and WobblesWarts and Wobbles is a tangle pattern by new tangler, Cindy Straight, and it’s her first pattern on the site.

Cindy writes that Warts and Wobbles “has been evolving over the last few weeks…adding bits here and there… It’s a pretty fluid tangle and plays well with others.”

“I’ve been living in South Mississippi for almost twenty years now. I currently teach and work at my local bead shop. I also teach beading and wire working for the Community Education Program. Between us, my husband and I have six children and five grandchildren.

Crafting has been a major part of my life and is solely responsible for keeping me sane for as long as I can remember. I am always open to new crafts. The one area that has always plagued me was drawing. I wanted to draw, but always fail… miserably. One day while looking through the DIY/Crafts on Pinterest I came across this beautiful drawing. It was so elegant and fluid. The artist claimed that it could be done…one line at a time. I watched the video of Mooka…and was hooked. That was a few weeks before this past Christmas. Now each evening I sit down, relax from many hours of making jewelry and just draw.

Warts and Wobbles was a series of little bumps that slowly morphed into something solid. It’s a versatile, lacey looking tangle that just flows off the pen. I always go back to it when facing a wall. This little tangle helps me over the creative block and I can move on. It is an honor to have Warts and Wobbles included. I hope everyone who tries it will enjoy it as much as I have.”

Cindy illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Warts and Wobbles below, together with a sweet Zentangle® showing some possible variations.
