How to draw LaBEL

The lovely and delicate Zentangle pattern: La BelLaBel border tangle pattern is from Chicago-based CZT® Sue Jacobs.

At first glance it would appear to come from calligraphy, but Sue writes “LaBel is a pattern based on a border I saw on a painted Russian tray. On the tray it was painted in gold, as most Russian trays are.”

Sue illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing LaBel, here. “Embellish and shade as desired.” I desired to leave it just as is. Simplicity itself.

Check out the tag suej for more of Sue’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.
