How to draw TRIRAL

Zentangle pattern: TriralThis lovely decorative tangle pattern, Triral was created by Pam Pincha-Wagener, known as ppinchawagener on flickr.

I wondered about Pam’s inspiration for the name, thinking it looks rather tribal and I asked her if that might have something to do with it, tribal spirals?

Pam replied, “I had a triangular space to fill and wanted to do a spiral but I wanted it to reflect the space so I made a spiral or triangles. It worked out quite lovely. Spiral are one of the oldest motifs man has used. They are found all over the world from the oldest art on. They do seem to be an integral part of our artistic subconscious.” Thus, triangle spirals! You can read about Pam’s background along with her pattern, Jambalee.

Pam shows the step-by-step instructions for drawing Triral, here. Triral works really well as either a border or a filler.
