How to draw GRASS BORDER

Zentangle pattern: Grass BorderGrass Border is a tangle pattern created by CZT® Suzanne McNeill and it appears in her book Zentangle 2 along with a variation (tangleation) named Sea Weed Border.

Here I’ve shown it sideways and filled the outlines with solid black. It would be fun to fill it with other strokes or patterns too. Or use a permanent white ink gel pen to embellish it further.

Suzanne’s step-by-step instructions for drawing Grass Border are here, although the image labelled Grass Border on that page is actually her Sea Weed Border tangleation, according to her book. Therefore, to draw Grass Border use the Sea Weed Border instructions and just round the tips of the “blades”. Hope that wasn’t too confusing.

Check out the tag suzannem for more of Suzanne’s patterns on TanglePatterns.com.

    Hi Linda,
Couldn’t find where I should post this, but I wanted to spread the word. I was working on a project with gel medium. I decided to embellish it with some Zentangles. The Sakura Pigma Micron pens, effortlessly glided over the gel medium suface like Dorothy Hamill on the ice. Zero smudging, only draw back you could not shade with pencil. So I shaded with lines.
