How to draw YINCUT

Zentangle pattern: YincutYincut is one of the more challenging tangle patterns for me to draw because I tend to rush the strokes and end up with cockeyed looking stuff. That having been said, it’s great to fill large areas and the more you curve your lines, the more 3D the pattern becomes and shading puts the icing on the cake.

Yincut is an original Zentangle® pattern designed by Maria Thomas. The link to her illustrated instructions for this pattern is here.

Update 12/09/10: Suzanne McNeill has also posted her version of step-by-step instructions for Yincut, here. It’s a pattern included in her book, Zentangle 3.
