How to draw STIKZ

Exciting FIFA World Cup Semifinal matches coming up this week: France-Belgium tomorrow and England-Croatia on Wednesday. Much anticipation!

While we bide our time waiting for the playoff excitement to begin, it’s Monday and we have another super easy and versatile tangle for your stress-free tangling pleasure.

Arizona tangler Laurel Sponseller shares her Stikz tangle with us and it’s her second on the site, the fun ribbon-y Gra-Vee tangle was her first.

Stikz is a simple tangleation of the Zentangle®-original BB and incorporates orbs in varying sizes to “wedge” skinny ellipses open at different angles depending on your whim.

Laurel writes,

This is fun to play with as it seems to come alive and twist and turn.

In this color ZIA a sea anemone appeared.

I’m guessing Laurel used Sakura’s Moonlight Gelly Roll pens on black paper, a very effective ZIA. For my example I added a simple aura around the outer edges and a touch of shading as Laurel has done to give the orbs/pearls a bit of contour.
