If you have a website or a blog currently displaying the TanglePatterns site Badge or the TanglePatterns TANGLE GUIDE badge, there has been a change in the code and you will need to update the code you are using in your site sidebar now so the images will continue to display.
The new code is available by scrolling down the page and looking towards the end of the right sidebar under the heading TANGLEPATTERNS BADGES.
Backstory …
Until now I have been using Photobucket to host the TanglePatterns badge images which are displayed on your sites after you place the code in your sidebar widgets. That service was $34.99 a year.
Earlier this week I received a notice from Photobucket that the type of account TanglePatterns is subscribed to has been discontinued. To continue using the service the new plan will now cost $399.99 a year, payable up front.
This is a classic example of what I meant last week when explaining the expenses of running the site are escalating. The same thing happened earlier this year with the Inlinkz service I was using for tanglers to add their String examples to the site. Inlinkz cost of $19.99 a year suddenly became their per month cost so I was forced to terminate that service. Fortunately it was not a service essential to keeping the site running.
I’ve made alternative arrangements for hosting TanglePatterns badges but that means the code you are currently using on your website/blog has changed.
How to update your badge code now so the images continue to display …
Simply scroll down the page and copy the code given in the lower right sidebar of the site under the heading TANGLEPATTERNS BADGES by clicking in the box for the size badge you are using. Then in your website/blog, replace the code you currently have in your sidebar widget(s) by deleting the old code and pasting the copied code in its place.
Many thanks to CZT Margaret Bremner for pretesting the code on her site to check that it works!
And many thanks for your time and for your kindness in displaying a TanglePatterns Badge and sharing the Zentangle® love.
Tangle on … 🙂

I am trying to figure out the directions for copying and pasting the code. I get to the part of clicking on the box with the code and then can copy it, but I don’t understand where to paste it.
Hi Jean, you will need to go to your blog/website’s control panel/dashboard and look for the widgets etc. there. Hope that helps but your hosting company can give you instructions specific to your type of site. Thanks!
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the heads up. I have changed the code on my blog. I am beginning to believe all these internet companies seen to think people are made of money and that their ‘tiny’ monthly subscription will not affect budgets. However, every ‘tiny’ monthly subscription soon adds up. Thank you for all the hard work you do for the Zentangle community.
Hi Linda! It has been such fun getting your emails with all the Zentangle patterns, I’m in my 70’s and can just barely work with my computer and cell phone. I am just not meant for this new technology that is replacing my world. I read what you wrote to Jean about widgets and dashboards and felt my eyes roll back in my head. Don’t have anyone to help me find those things so guess you will joint the many things that keep getting lost to me through technology. Thanks for your hard work and bless you for your generosity. Tracy King
Dear Linda,
I have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the 2018 Tangle Guide. It has been awhile since I last downloaded, so am in dire need of updating. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I very much appreciate all of your hard work in keeping this site and the Tangle Guide up to date. I am sure it is very time consuming! I have been trying to keep up with all the new tangle patterns, but this will make life so much easier. I am sending my wishes to you for a great year ahead! BTW I left a little extra in the payment column…hope it helps a bit.
Best Wishes,
Harriet M.
