Continuing our wonderful long weekend here in the USA, today celebrating Independence Day!
Interlude is today’s pretty tangle and it’s from Ohio tangler Patricia Cosiano who’s also shared her LTD tangle with us.
Patricia writes,
This pattern starts with curved lines that do not touch one another. They look like parentheses.
When I looked up parentheses on Google, one of the definitions was ‘the curved lines around an explanation or interlude of a sentence.’
I decided that Interlude was the perfect name for a very easy, very pretty pattern.
It can be used as a border–but multiple rows or multiple auras can be used to fill in a larger spaces.
Interlude is the perfect name for today, an interlude of national celebrations!
Interlude is composed of basic curved parentheses but it’s worth experimenting with other shapes of “brackets” too for an interesting variation. In my larger version I added a touch weight to the tips of each. Interlude can be one of those “mac and cheese” tangles when you need something lacy and light for your Zentangle® tile.
Here Patricia illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Interlude and features it in a pretty tile with some orbs resting in the intersections of Interlude.

Thanks, Melena! You will be happy to know that LTD (Lucy the Dog) was adopted last week. She has a new home with two lovely, caring, kind people who are totally smitten with her! I was sad to see her go, but I know she will have a great life with her new family.

Patricia, I’m so glad some wonderful people have taken Lucy The Dog into their home. It’s so satisfying. I know you’ll miss her, but this is truly what LTD was needing – a forever home.
