Happy Monday y’all! Here in the USA we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving Day this Thursday the 26th, lots of travel plans and menu decisions going on as we officially launch into the Holiday Season — and all that that entails!
Today I have another pretty tangle from Texas tangler Sayantika Ray for you. Sayantika has several popular tangles on the site so be sure to check them out too.
Organic has a delicate woven look to it and makes a lovely ribbon or border-type tangle.
Did you know you can easily find TANGLES BY TYPE on TanglePatterns? Each tangle has its tags listed as live links in the date bar just above the comments section on each page. The date bar looks like this:
Click on those live links to get to similar types of tangles and to find tangles by the same artist.
There’s also a section called TANGLES BY TYPE in the LEFT sidebar of any page as shown in this image. Scroll to that section in the sidebar, click on the type of tangle you’re looking for, and a new page will open with the list of all the tangles of that type.
Feel like choosing tangles at random for a change of pace for your Zentangle® art?
There are three ways to do this on the site. First, there’s a random TANGLE SELECTOR in the left sidebar with instructions on how to use it, this handy gadget can also be used to select random Strings. Second, just above the TANGLE SELECTOR there’s a TANGLE RANDOMIZER that has already pre-selected 5 random tangles to use. Third, many like to use the tangles listed at the end of every tangle in the “You might also like:” section of the page.
Be sure to check out all the features that are hidden in plain sight in the sidebars on both sides of every page. And not to forget the main menu bar across the top of every page — there’s a lot of great reading and learning there that you won’t want to miss.
Getting back to Organic, Sayantika writes:
I called it ‘Organic’. For a simple reason that I couldn’t think of any name. And this came up very naturally while I was trying to fill up a ‘border’ area in a drawing.
Sayantika illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Organic here. If you have difficulties drawing this from the bottom up, try turning your Zentangle® tile sideways. I found it easier to visualize the angle of each “cane” this way. You can also work from the top down.
And here Sayantika demonstrates several pretty ways to vary her Organic tangle, including one featuring the Zentangle enhancer Sparkle.
Check out the tag sayantikar for more of Sayantika’s tangles on TanglePatterns.com.

My first time to leave a note.
I love it.
Very easy to work with.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you for taking the time to write this note Kathie! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
What a beautiful tangle! I know this will make many appearances in beautiful Zentangle art!
Thanks a lot, Antonine! I am so glad u liked it! 🙂
This is very pretty and different! Thanks, Linda and Sayantikar! I really appreciate the info on finding tangles by type. I’ve been using the site for a couple years and never knew!!! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you Jennifer! 🙂 Linda has designed this site pretty efficiently. I simply love how many different ways one can find the various tangle patterns!!
Very graceful and lovely pattern; I combined it with (newly mastered) Mooka, and the two together are so pretty. This one brings several other gracefully curved patterns to mind, and it’ll work well with them, I think.
I love ur idea to combine it with mooka, Joyce. Tangleations are such fun to create! 🙂
This is a lovely pattern and fun to do. Thanks also for the variations!
Thank you Susie! 🙂
LOVE this pattern. Can’t wait to try it!
Happy that u liked this Patricia! 🙂 Thank u!
This is a beautiful tangle, Sayantika. Thanks for sharing it and I’m looking forward to using it.
Thank you so much Roseanne! 🙂
Lovely! Thank you Sayantika!
Oh! Nice one!
Great new pattern! And the variations, too. I am always looking for border patterns and this one really is a winner. Thank you for sharing it.
This one is so pretty! It starts like Heartrope (also one of my favorites) but is feminine and sweet. I’ll use it often, I know! Thanks.
Thank you Vicky! 🙂 I was trying so hard to remember the pattern that starts out like this. Heartrope!
Beautiful.
Thank you so much everyone for liking this pattern.. I am now sooo happy that I got to share it! 🙂 Thanks Linda!!
Linda! That’s a fabulous feature – the Tangle by Type (and by Artist). Great idea!!! I’m curios if, the size of the words are related to the quantity of related tangles… Again, great idea… I don’t know how long it’s been there but I had never noticed it before.
Thanks so much for ALLLLL the work you do! You are a staple in all tanglers lives!!
Lauri
Thanks Lauri, both the TANGLE BY TYPE and TANGLE BY ARTIST sections have been there pretty much from the start of the site five years ago in 2010 so it always surprises me to hear long-time users haven’t seen it. It’s a very useful feature, AND there is a LOT to learn and discover on the site! And yes, the larger size word means more content for that particular type or artist.
A beautiful pattern!! Love it. Thank you for sharing with us.
My new favorite!!
Just tried it out, surely is organic!
I tried it out. My second attempt was much better. I love this tangle! Thank you for sharing.
I just started tangleing a few weeks ago, very relaxing and fun
I just love it.
Hello, Linda.
I am a fan of Zentangle from Taiwan. I found Zentangle and started to learn it since one year ago. Zentangle makes my life more different and happy than before. I am not a CZT yet, but I hope that I will be the one someday. Many thanks for everyone to share us so many amazing work and beautiful pattern here. so that we can learn them better anytime as we like.
I will try it out with organic. I like it very much.
Thanks again and wish all the best for you.
Happy Thanksgiving Day and every day.
Thanks. The pattern is very easy to learn, and it looks great too.
This is a top 5 tangle for me, Sayantika! I use it all the time. Just left a comment on Pots and Pans, clicked on your name and saw you did Organic, too. These are classics – real tangles. Good for you – and us 🙂
This is just like Heartrope only with curvy lines! 😉
Just discovered this Tangle…only got into Zentangle in 2018 here in England, so fairly new to it. But I will be learning your beautiful Tangle today and I’m sure it’ll become a favourite.
Can’t wait to try this!
Thank you so much for sharing this tangle! Not only was it a pleasure to draw, I love your variations of this tangle. Keep up the good work!
