How to draw CHAINLETTE

Chainlette is a fun tangle pattern created by Kristy Thomas, also known as Rose Twofeather on flickr.

Kristy was one of the very first people to leave a comment on TanglePatterns when I started the site last May and her comment was full of support for me. At the time she was going through a very brave but very tough time during her husband Marvin’s last months of struggle with mesothelioma. Sadly, Marvin passed away last summer.

During this time as she chronicled the months through her tangles on flickr, Kristy created some wonderful Zentangle-inspired drawings of hands including her own, Marvin’s and those of her two grandchildren. She intends to do her grandchildren’s hands again each year to record their growth. Kristy started a trend of folks recording their family “imprints” in this unique and beautiful way.
