Points and Curves comes to us from California CZT Cheryl Rotnem, and it’s her first on the site.
“Only 3 steps super easy, but has some magic to it!
I was a hairdresser for 13 years then decided to change gears to the medical profession and became a Medical Assistant and worked in that field for 20yrs. Since retiring in 2000, I started rubberstamping and started making my own greeting cards … Then about 3 years ago I found Zentangle®, and was mesmerized by this art. … After about one year into this art, I decided to find a CZT to get some good training and of course, it was one of the better things I’ve done. The following year I decided to go the RI and get certified! Oh my goodness, this was the best! I teach monthly sometimes and it is such a reward. Thanks to Rick and Maria for the awesome art.”
Points and Curves is a fun tangle for a random fill of any section of your Zentangle tile and there are many ways you can vary it. If you find you have trouble aligning the initial points of Step 1, you could approach it another way by drawing it “inside out” using the variation I did here. When I saw this result I realized you could simply draw the inner triangle first, then add the points and curves to it.
Drawing each motif in varying sizes could be another interesting take. And of course there are always auras.
Cheryl illustrates the steps for drawing Points and Curves below.

I love the way she demonstrated the pattern. I am sort of new at Zentangle. Thanks
