How to draw MEO

The lovely ribbon-y looking tangle pattern, Meo, comes to us from 17-year-old Jonathan Baetens of “beautiful little Belgium”. This is Jonathan’s first pattern on the site.

Most of what I know about Belgium involves some of my favorite food groups – food, beer and chocolate – and in doing a little surfing to learn more I found my impressions confirmed.

Enticing, right?

Jonathan writes, “I like to do a lot of stuff, i play the piano, i think that i’m going to take guitar lessons and i play theatre. I also love to draw … Lately I’ve been in to Zentangle, I really love it! … I adore your site, it’s so lovely to see all those great patterns all on one site! I visit tanglepatterns.com every day to check new patterns. … This pattern is very relaxing if you draw it. The repetitiveness of Meo works very meditative for me.”

I have to agree with Jonathan, Meo is a fun tangle and it requires total focus to get the curves going in the right direction to achieve the ribbon-like effect. And you know me, in my examples rarely does a tangle go unshaded.
