How to draw SENSONO

Wowzers. Last one for September!?!

I truly can’t believe how this year has gone by so quickly, I actually heard a Christmas song in a TV ad last night! {Note to self: better start planning holiday menus or you’re going to be all behind.}

Ah, so today’s tangle is called SenSono and it’s from Spanish CZT Carmen Varela Trigo. Most recently we explored Carmen’s Onda tangle.

Carmen explains how SenSono came to her:

SenSono was born one sleepless night, I drew a line of triangles alternating the direction of the base up and down, and I throw lines projecting the sides of those triangles.

I continue throwing lines joining bases with vertices and I begin to see SenSono.

I would like you to try it and enjoy it.

SenSono appears to share DNA with Barbara Duel Johnson’s Kev, similar but different.

As is sometimes the case with a tangle, after a few trial runs with SenSono I found myself changing up the order of Carmen’s steps just a bit. Starting with Step 1, I then skipped to Step 3 where the top and bottom of the triangles are connected. This helped me better see where the strokes for Step 2 went because for some reason I was finding that confusing in the original sequence. FWIW.

Carmen illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing SenSono below where she shows some cool ways to use it in a Zentangle tile, including a ZIA with a weighted Zentangle-original Printemps.
