Great to see you and we have another week of fun creative inspiration coming up, starting with our easy Monday tangle.
Wengz is from the archives and it’s from Ohio CZT Dianne Krumnow.
I was reminded of Wengz when I received a heads up from tangler Linda Genaw (thanks again Linda!) that Dianne’s blog had a malware issue affecting the link to her tangle Tracery.
Dianne has graciously given me permission to remove the link to her blog (now retired) and to add her steps instructions images to Tracery and today’s Wengz post.
Wengz has loads of possibilities for embellishments, for example Dianne’s Paradox version in her tile below. I especially love that aspect of tangling, just experimenting and discovering a variety of satisfying looks. Wengz has an Art Deco vibe to it and it’s a fun and easy ribbon-style tangle to add to your creations. A great way to decorate a string too if that’s what you feel like doing.
Dianne illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Wengz below and she demonstrates it in a Zentangle® tile with the Zentangle-originals Printemps and Paradox and multiple auras around Wengz creating a Static-like effect.

I’m loving the ribbon effect that Wengz offers up! Currently I am playing with it on Zendalas and enjoying seeing how the ribbon spirals around the edges. It gives such a lovely Art Deco feeling and there’s lots to explore. I like how the boxes can be used as reticula to fill with other tangles too! Many thanks for sharing such a wonderful easy tangle!
