Greetings Zentangle® Zealots and welcome to your tangling inspiration for the day.
Today’s super easy tangle to get us underway this week is Briznas and it’s from Mexican CZT Verónica Vázquez Orozco. It’s her second on the site.
Briznas reminds me of a super-sized and whimsically embellished Tink, a tangle from very early days. Shares DNA, as we say.
Verónica writes,
Briznas means “Filamento o hebra, especialmente de una planta o de un fruto”.
“Filament or thread of a plant or fruit”
In checking out translations it seems that “strand” might also work, as in a strand of a plant.
Briznas is composed simply of varying sizes of orbs connected by strands or threads, then shading makes a world of difference to the final effect.
Verónica illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Briznas below and shows how fun it can be it in a cheerful monotangle.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. Your thanks helps motivate them to continue to share! And please share a link to your favorite tangles on social media. Thanks!

Thus patterns that are drawings of a recognizable naturalistic or actual object, figure, or scene, are not tangles. A pattern is not always a tangle — here's what makes a tangle. I’m a great fan of Tink and I like this one too very much. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
I feel I will be able to relax with this one. Thanks for sharing……I have been “battling” a pattern I can’t get to look right…..(I know, ‘no mistakes’) I can get the step out if I concentrate, but the finished look is just not right somehow. Anyway it has been banished to my cupboard, so maybe by “cooling its heels” for a few weeks will do the trick!
So you see this lovely pattern has arrived just at the right time!
This sweet adventure-some pattern has so many possibilities! Thank you, Veronica. I hope to go see you and your work someday in beautiful Mexico!
Thank you for sharing my tangle, love to see Briznas here.
fun tangle. Thanks for sharing Veronica
Love to see your comment
