It seems like it’s been a little while since we’ve had a new tangle from Australian tangler Helen Williams but our patience has been rewarded.
We can always use more heart at any time, but in today’s political climate, more than ever.
Helen’s Hearts & Diamonds tangle is based on a dot grid and it’s very easy to do.
Helen notes,
“You could stop at step 4, but I really like the way the diamonds effectively ‘disappear’ and the hearts become more pronounced as the line detail is added in step 5 and 6.”
I tried both ways and for my main example I did stop at Step 4 and I liked the stained glass window look. At this scale I thought the extra line detail looked a little busy. I filled in the hearts thinking I’d like it better but in the end, today I preferred the version with white space. Very likely tomorrow I’ll change my mind 😉
Helen illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Hearts & Diamonds here on her blog and she notes it can also work with a regular square grid if that suits you.
As you enjoy any of the tangles on the site, please leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours.
