Spyz is an interesting grid-based tangle pattern from Greenville, South Carolina tangler Laura Sanders.
“I came up with the name ‘Spyz’ because all the dots that come together when the design is done in a grid made me think of little eyes ‘spying’ out of the pattern.”
In my example of Spyz I used slightly curved lines in place of the straight ones in Step 3 of Laura’s instructions and I like how it turns out in both. I can think of several ways to embellish this but I chose to simply add some pencil fill to it.
Laura introduces herself:
I learned about Zentangle from friends who told me that my art work looked a lot like something they called “Zentangle.” I researched Zentangle, and fell in love with the patterns and the process and the materials. I hope to get a slot in a CZT class in 2014 and become an official teacher. I have a BA in Art/Design, and another in Art Education.
Here Laura illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Spyz. Laura used one of my TanglePatterns free index card templates for sharing the steps for her tangle.
