How to draw HEARTROPE

Zentangle pattern: HeartropeOkay, so it’s a month early but today IS the 14th so here’s a Valentine-inspired tangle pattern for you to play with for a bit.

Heartrope is from Canadian tangler Bunny Wright from the big eastern Toronto ‘burb of Oshawa, Ontario – widely known as the home of General Motors Canada and the birthplace of the famous Canadian thoroughbred racehorse Northern Dancer.

Heartrope is Bunny’s first tangle on the site although she’s been a regular around TanglePatterns for a long time.

I have loved Zentangle® since I was introduced to it a little over two years ago. As a cake decorator for forty years, the fine repetitive patterns really suited me. As an artist, I love the creative energy I feel when I create Zentangle-inspired art (covering shoes, lampshades, pumpkins etc. with tangles) and as a retired teacher I love sharing this wonderful art form with friends.

Heartrope makes use of auras which I so enjoy adding to my work and with Valentine’s Day approaching I think it would look lovely on a card.

I agree with Bunny, there is something quite soothing about adding auras to a tangle and Heartrope gains its interest from them.

Bunny illustrates the steps for drawing Heartrope and features it in a Zentangle with a couple of variations for your creative inspiration.
