How to draw PEAKS BORDER

Zentangle pattern: Peaks BorderSometimes you just want something really simple to add as a border and CZT® Suzanne McNeill’s Peaks Border is one of those tangle patterns that serves nicely.

This tangle appears in Suzanne’s Zentangle 2, a book focusing on how to embellish scrapbooks and journals with Zentangle-inspired art.

You can place Peaks Border along a string between sections or even frame a whole tile with it. As basic as it is, you can vary it several ways to change its appearance. Here I made use of my Sakura Pigma Graphic 1 to get the deep black fill.

Compared to the Sakura Micron 01 the Graphic 1 has a very large nib and you have to be careful it doesn’t go where you don’t want it to. It also seems to go on “wetter”, so be careful of smudging by giving it time to dry. The Graphic 1 certainly isn’t necessary for tangling, but it does come in handy if you have a large area to fill with solid black.

Suzanne illustrates the steps for drawing Peaks Border here.
