How to draw UP AND ACROSS

This tangle pattern – Up and Across – is a simple variant of one of the bajillion ways you can work with a grid and straight lines within it. This tangle ends up with a woven look and shading adds interesting depth.

Suzanne McNeill illustrates the step-by-steps for drawing the pattern Up and Across on her blog here. UPDATE: Early in the Summer of 2014 Suzanne McNeill’s blog was removed and all the posts and images were lost, so this link no longer works.

Her site is being reconstructed as much as possible and until it’s available again, many of her patterns like Up and Across can quite easily be figured out. Have fun challenging your Zentangle® deconstructing abilities!
