Today’s lovely tangle looks like it would be hard to draw, right?
Au contraire, mes amis. (Yes, watching the Tour de France is affecting me a tad. And what a GREAT tour this year!) Cindyer is from Taiwan’s Yu Ru Chen and it’s based on the basic construction of the Zentangle®-original Cadent.
And it’s so easy to draw, one step at a time.
Yu Ru writes that she was experimenting with “a small circle and C” strokes looking for something “good and simple“. Cindyer is the result of her experimentation. Cindyer is named for a Zentangle classmate named Cindy.
Yu Ru illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Cindyer below and in her example she shows several easy ways to vary her tangle.

Here is Yu Ru’s pretty Zentangle tile using Cindyer in a circular, somewhat mandala-like format with Showgirl as the center focal point.

Looks interesting and a bit of a challenge! There seems to have been a lot of ribbon-style tangles lately but this one does look as though it has more potential to use other ways. Must give it a try tomorrow, best wishes Vera Whiting
