Dutch Diamonds is a very pretty tangle pattern from Florida CZT Alice Hendon, and it’s her first on the site.
Alice attended CZT 9, and she’s located in the northeast part of the state in the city of Starke. Starke is home to the Florida State Prison and is also located in what is known as one of Florida’s “lightning corridors” which has higher than average lightning strikes. Actually Florida is known as “the lightning capital of the United States“. More fascinating geographic trivia for you!
Alice introduces herself:
“i am a retired law enforcement officer of 27 years, followed by 12 years of homeschooling. i am into the 3rd year of my art journey and became a CZT just 2 short years ago. i enjoy tangling in all forms, as well as art journaling.
This tangle came about as i was playing with new ideas for borders that could also be used in the round. when i showed it to my husband, his first words were that it looked like the little white caps that the dutch girls used to wear with their wooden shoes. i wanted it to be flexible, so the tangle could be used in a lot of different ways, so with mark’s comment in mind – i named this tangle Dutch Diamonds.“
Alice illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Dutch Diamonds here where she shows it with several interesting and very different variations for you to try.
