Zentangle® Pens

Zentangle® creators Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas have teamed up with Sakura®, manufacturers of the Micron 01 pens specifically recommended for tangling, to produce three great new Zentangle-branded drawing sets.

Brand new 11-Piece Zentangle Sakura Micron pen setHere’s what you’ll find in each of the new pen sets.

  1. 11 Piece Set features (List $21.99) – This set has four different size Microns for you to sample, plus a pencil and five official Zentangle tiles. The ultimate sampler of different size pens in one great package:
    • 5 Pigma™ Micron pens sizes: 01, 01, 03, 05, 08
    • 1 – Zentangle pencil
    • 5 – Official 3.5 x 3.5-inch Zentangle tiles
  2. 9 Piece ATC Set features (List $13.99) – This set has 3 different size Microns for you to sample, plus a pencil and Zentangle ATC tiles – all in one great package:
    • 3 Pigma™ Micron pens sizes: 01, 03, 05
    • 1 – Zentangle pencil
    • 5 – Official Zentangle ATC tiles (2.5 x 3.5-inch Artist Trading Card size)
  3. 3 Piece Set features (List $9.99) – Great starter set or refill pack for your favorite Zentangle pens:

The Micron’s quick drying, non-bleeding ink produces permanent lines for long-lasting beautiful results.

The selection of sizes in the 11-Piece set gives you two of the 01 – the one you will use the most – and an 03, 05, and 08 for larger fill areas or broader lines. The tiles are die cut from museum quality paper and are simply a joy to tangle on.

TIP: The Sakura Micron pens are fine precision tools originally created for drafting. They have handling characteristics you’ll want to know and you can learn more about how to use them for best performance here.

You can also find more information about the Sakura pens here on TanglePatterns in the TIPS & TOOLS section on the top menu bar.

    Hi,

I’m looking for the white jel pens to purchase, that is used to tangle on black tiles.

Where might I find these? I got one in a class supply but want to purchase more before I run out.

    Thank you,
    Bev

  • Hello Linda,
I am planning on tangling on fabric and on a floor cloth. Do you have any suggestions for me?
I have been looking online and in my local stores for makers or pen to use on fabric. I am not crazy about the ones I have purchased and am wondering what you might suggest.
My floor cloth is a pre-gessoed one I have had for years and I decided to get it out and tangle it. It is still a rough surface and was thinking maybe I should put more layers of gesso on it. Here again, do you have any suggestions or can you direct me?

I was recently introduced to Zentangle by a friend. I think I am possessed :). I have been embroidering since I was a teenager. Never even considered drawing, but now I am doing just that, and can see the infinite possibilities for patterns. What a wonderful discovery.

Hi Linda, I recently came across some leftover tiles from a bathroom remodel. Do you have any suggestions for pens that would work well on these? Thanks in advance!

    • Linda Farmer, CZT

Hi Susan, if you click on the TUTORIALS tab in the pink alphabetic menu bar you’ll find several articles about tangling on different surfaces. The comments in those posts are especially helpful as fellow tanglers have shared their experiences with us. Do come back and let us know what you discover! The biggest tip I take away from all of these is to TEST, TEST, TEST – and that’s fun too, right?

Oh, thanks, Linda! I was sure I had seen something, somewhere, but just was not finding it. This will help a LOT! And I’ll let you know what I find.

    Hi Linda,

I ordered a book through your site a few days ago. How do I find the status of that order?

    Thanks!
