Zentangle Primer Volume 1AND the fabulous new hardcover book by Zentangle’s co-founders, Zentangle PRIMER Vol 1.

“Absolutely the best Zentangle Book yet! As an accomplished artist I used to think I did not need instruction on this art form. How wrong I was! My tangling improved by leaps and bounds after reading this book. If you think you have Zentangle down then you need this book more than ever!” ~ Kris H

My name (Linda) in a Zentangle®, using tangles whose names start with the letters of my name. Click this Zentangle to learn more.A very warm welcome to TanglePatterns, you are certainly among friends. Tanglers are a wonderful, generous and sharing community. I hope you enjoy the site and are inspired by the tangles and many useful resources you find here. Please feel free to add your thoughts in the comments on any page and join in the community.

Here are some suggestions on how to use this site. If you are new to Zentangle®, I suggest you visit this page first to get an idea of the focus of TanglePatterns.

If you are viewing the site for the first time, I highly recommend you use the Desktop version, not the Mobile version. There are many useful features that aren’t available in the mobile version. To find out how to switch easily from one to the other, it’s explained on this page.

Here’s another resource that’s handy for newcomers — Exploring TanglePatterns. Be sure to check out the rest of the pages on the menu at the very top of every page — there’s a wealth of information there you’ll want to see.  Also, don’t miss the TUTORIALS tab on the pink alphabetic tangles menu bar.

Recently I’ve added a new FAQ page on the “About” menu that may answer any other questions you might have.

TanglePatterns String 228

TanglePatterns.com STRINGSThis week’s String is shared by Canadian tangler Rosemary Turpin for your creative enjoyment. Rosemary recently shared String 216 with us.

Bear in mind that Zentangle® strings are guidelines, and there is no right side up. Strings are always drawn freehand in pencil so they magically disappear into your completed Zentangle.

You can use a string exactly as it is or adapt it to suit as your Zentangle grows. Start with the string as it’s shown then, as you go, combine sections if your tangles want to, or divide a section into smaller ones. Go with the flow and enjoy.
