Tangle Refresher 125 – Featuring Mark Twain …

Last night Robert and I got into a long distance phone conversation with my Mom about Mark Twain, which evolved from our noting the death of British comedian Ronnie Corbett and remembering many great laughs he and his partner Ronnie Barker (aka “The Two Ronnies”) brought us over the years.

While we were on the phone Robert did some quick searching on his iPad and we ended up having a good laugh from quotes demonstrating Twain’s unique satiric wit. This one is appropriate for today:

The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (aka Mark Twain).

This one had the three of us in stitches, another April-appropriate quote:

The only difference between a tax man and a taxidermist is that the taxidermist leaves the skin.

And my personal favorite of the moment:

“Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out the wrong words.”

For a healthy chuckle, enjoy reading some of his insightful quotes here:

Mark Twain Satire: http://quotations.about.com/od/marktwainquotes/a/twainsatire.htm

“Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.”

Welcome, April!

I hope you get as much enjoyment going back and looking at the “history” of the tangles as I do. I encourage you to visit each of them – even if the patterns are familiar to you – to see if there’s a tip or technique you might learn or be reminded of in the post or comments. So much gets buried in the flow of new tangles and this series is a quick and easy way to brush up.

The Tangle Refresher series, aka Buried Treasure, spotlights hidden tangle gems from the past. It can remind you of tangles you might not have used for a while or introduce you to some you haven’t come across yet.

Here are five more tangle pattern gems and a Tangle Refresher from a year (or two) ago for your tangling pleasure. Remember to check out the “More Good Stuff” links below too.

As you enjoy these tangles please do leave a comment of thanks and encouragement to show the artists you appreciate them for sharing their creativity to inspire yours. And please share a link to your favorite tangles with your followers on all your social media.

Zenful tangling!

    Linda;

    We used to get Mark Twain short stories on tape from the library. Laughed ourselves to stitches!!! My siblings and I still quote many of them to this day!
