How to draw OYBAY

Zentangle pattern: Oybay. © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. Many congrats on both counts!

Antonine writes that Oybay is a tangle she created in 2013 but has just recently created the steps for it.

Back in late 2013 when I was still fairly new to Zentangle, but already loving it, my husband asked me to do a ZIA to put in our wine bar area in the kitchen.  I took a piece of parchment look paper, printed a quote from Benjamin Franklin on it and tangled a wine bottle and glass. I burned the edges and mounted it on a really cool square plate charger from Pier One.

… It occurred to me that the shells are like oysters in a shallow pool, so it became Oybay.

My small sample hardly does Oybay justice, wait until you see Antonine’s beautiful piece using Oybay as a frame for Benjamin Franklin’s quote, “Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.”

Antonine illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Oybay here on her blog, it’s a loooong juicy post!
