How to draw NEIT-LITE

Zentangle pattern: Neit-LiteMonday’s tangle pattern (Arcodos) with its curves and loops reminded me of Neit-Lite by Germany’s Annette Plaga-Lodde.

Neit-Lite is constructed in an entirely different way and it’s a fun one to draw. This is Annette’s first tangle on the site.

She introduces herself:

My name is Annette Plaga-Lodde (alias LonettA – my pseudonym). I live in Verl – a little town in North Rhine-Westfalia / Germany. I have drawn and painted as child and teenager with great enthusiasm. My profession then led me into the scientific area, however. I had no time for drawing or painting the last 20 years. In May 2013 I discovered Zentangle® for me and I started a new beginning. On suggestion of my daughter (20 years old) I have created a blog and I haven’t regretted it. It’s so wonderful to share experiences with like-minded people.

Also I like to admire the works of other artists. By the participation in challenges (Laura “I’m the Diva” Challenge, Erin’s “Zendala Dare”, Adele’s “It’s a String Thing”) I have learned very much. It’s such a wonderful community around the world. The many positive comments confirm my creativity and give me courage. Also I like TanglePatterns.com very much. It’s a great and unique resource of tangle patterns and strings. Your Tangle Guide is absolutely wonderful and very important for me.

Neit-Lite offers a variety of ways to play with it. I actually started my example with Annette’s Step 2 and worked upwards from there. Curves, orbs, rice shapes, curves. Curves, orbs, rice shapes, curves. Easy peasy. On her blog Annette shares this lovely ZIA from fellow tangler Tina Brüwer:

Annette illustrates the step-by-step instructions for drawing Neit-Lite here on her blog and shows it in a Zentangle with several variations.

    Hi Linda,
I keep rereading that first sentence and wondering: what pattern does NEIT-LITE remind you of…?

Anyway – very cool pattern, Annette. I will try it soon!

Hi Jennifer, Monday’s pattern was Arcodos and while I was preparing that one, it reminded me of this one. Hope that clears up the mystery.

I’m so dumb. I though THIS was Monday’s pattern because….oh, just because I’m so dumb. Thanks for straightening me out, Linda. (I’m kind of embarrassed now.)
