Japonica is a tangle pattern created by Sandra Strait, many of you know her as Molossus on flickr. I rotated this drawing on its side and the result reminds me of native masks. This pattern has lots of possibilities for variation depending on what areas you make solid, or how you fill those areas. It makes a great border.
